Barb

I believe we have the responsibility to raise our children with unconditional love, acceptance, tolerance, and positive regard.

Sounds like common sense huh?! If you are a parent, then you know that it is easier said then done. Raising children into productive, empathetic, respecting adults takes tons of sacrifice and commitment. It is not for the faint at heart.

If you are a parent, I encourage (and beg) you to put your kids first in all you do. Teach them how to learn new skills, solve their own problems, and get their needs met. Their brains develop each day by what they see at home. You’re actions mold their personalities and decisions. Parents are extremely powerful in creating their children’s destiny.

If you are a teacher, I urge you to make the most of everyday with your students.  The demands of education have never been greater.  Curriculum needs to be taught, state tests need to be passed, and your yearly professional goal to track your effectiveness (whether fair or not) is hopefully met by the end of the school year.  In addition to all of these things, your students need your attention and support to help navigate social situations throughout the day and count on you as a trusted safe person in their lives. How will you ever get it all done and make a positive difference in their lives?
